Mablethorpe Motorcycle Sand Racing Club Ltd. Operates by Kind permission of East Lindsey District Council. The Club is allowed to race Motorcycles and Quads under licence and must adhere to the strict safety rules implemented by the Council, any member found to be breaking the Rules could have their membership terminated. IMPORTANT NOTICE All Competitors MUST park on the Beach or Dunes car park, not on the car parks over the public highway, we are only insured for the Beach area, anyone ignoring this request will be excluded from the meeting. For new members CLOTHING In all races and practising the correct clothing consisting of approved competition breeches, leather gloves, knee length motorcycle competition boots, correct fitting upper body armour or leathers, ACU approved or equivalent quality helmets MUST be worn at all times. All racing clothing must be presented with the machine at scrutineering. The word of the scrutineer is final. RUNNING OF ENGINES The running of engines is NOT permitted until after the initial riders briefing prior to practice and then only for a five minute period prior to each practice/race. When a practice/race has been completed machines must be taken back to the pits and remain there. THROTTLES & CUTOUTS Lanyard cutouts must be fitted to all machines on throttle side. All throttles must be of the ’twistgrip’ type and self returning. LOAN OR CHANGE OF MACHINE NOT ALLOWED under any circumstances. Any rider permitting his machine to be ridden by any other person will be disqualified from the meeting. Any rider seen to be riding on the public highway (THIS INCLUDES THE PROMENADE) will be disqualified from the meeting. PRACTIC AND RACE AREA Any rider using his machine (or permitting same) to be ridden outside the permitted area as designated by the clerk of the course will be disqualified from the meeting. This applies to any area other than the warm up area and the track area. ANY CONCRETE AREAS OR NORTH OF THE OUTFALL OUT OF BOUNDS. HELMETS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHEN ON THE MACHINE. Failure to comply will result in automatic disqualification. PENALTIES Any shortening of the circuit, clipping of markers/cones will mean loss of points for the race. NO WARNING, Marshall’s/Officials report is final. This rule also applies to stakes and ropes, unless unavoidable in the event of an accident, or to avoid a fallen rider. Any rider seen to deliberately force another rider into the ropes or markers shall lose his points for that event, or be disqualified from the meeting subject to the gravity of the incident. Any rider seen refuelling his machine in the pits or car park will be penalised. First offence day ban, second offence season ban.Machines MUST be refuelled in the roped off area set aside from the pits, fuel must be carried in heavy duty containers coloured red, Max allowed to be carried 2x2 Galls. TESTING OF MACHINES If anyone unavoidably miss practice can test their machine at the discretion of the clerk of the course Any rider who falls and causes a race to be stopped (unless unavoidable) will not be allowed in the re-run. Children under age, none members, are NOT ALLOWED to ride about on the beach. Mini bikes, fun bikes, etc, NOT ALLOWED, any member allowing this to take place by any member of his family or friends shall be penalised, the entrant shall be fully responsible for their good conduct and behaviour and must ensure they adhere to our rules. SIGNING ON Competitors will not be able to sign on after practice starts. (Secretary’s discretion). FLAGS GREEN-Ready to start race. YELLOW– Slow down, NO OVERTAKING. YELLOW & BLACK CROSS– Last Lap. CHEQUERED– Finish. RED-STOP RACING. NOTE. ANY RIDER SEEN TO DELIBERATELY IGNORE A FLAG SIGNAL OF ANY KIND WILL BE PENALISED. AWARDS ….!st. 2nd. 3rd. 4th. In each junior class...1st. 2nd. 3rd. In all other classes. POINTS Points awarded on every race are 8-6-4-3-2-1, all riders who finish will get one point irrespective of being lapped. Collective points will be carried forward to the overall championship. (a) Double points will be awarded on the last meeting. (b) To be eligible to qualify for class or championship points there must be at least three competitors in the class. (c) It is not permissible to ride a machine not designated for that class.
